The Northeast ADA Center provides information and training on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. We are not an enforcement or regulatory agency but rather a resource for anyone with rights or responsibilities under the ADA. Contact us for additional information.
The ADA is a comprehensive civil rights law designed to ensure equal opportunity for people with disabilities in all aspects of our society. The five titles of the ADA address disability discrimination in employment, participation in state and local government activities and services like state parks or local meetings, access to businesses open to the public such as hotels and restaurants, telecommunications access and other miscellaneous areas.
The Northeast ADA Center is a proud member of the ADA National Network. The National Network consists of 10 regional ADA centers located throughout the United States that provide local assistance to ensure that the ADA is implemented to the greatest extent possible.
